Banking
Bank services are available at the Airport, throughout the city and there are several close to the symposium venue. Banks are open from 10:00 to 16:00 with no lunchtime closing. The city is well supplied with cash dispensers, which take most major credit cards.
 
 
Climate and clothing
The beginning of September is usually a period of relatively mild weather (app.
15 degrees Celsius) and long Nordic days. The nights can be chilly and it is recommended to bring a rain coat.
 
 
Credit cards
International credit cards are accepted in cash dispensers, hotels, restaurants and most shops, as well as car rental agencies. The most common international credit cards are VISA, Euro Card, MasterCard and American Express.

Currency
The official currency in Denmark is Danish Kroner (DKK) (1 EURO ~ 7.40 DKK). EURO may be used in tourist shops.
 
 

Electricity
In Denmark, electricity is supplied at 220V / 50Hz AC and power sockets are of the 2 pin round-type.

Meals
Within walking distance from the symposium venue, several different kinds of fast food, cafés and restaurants can be found. Prices vary from 8 EURO to above 100 EURO.

Parking facilities in Copenhagen
Pay and Park parking meters (coins, Danish Kroner (DKK) are in operation in most parts of the city. Parking zones are indicated by special P - signs. In these zones payment for parking is obligatory during daytime (Monday to Saturday). There are also several underground car park facilities.

Post office
The post office working hours are 10:00 - 17:00. Some services are available at the hotels: Postcards, stamps and mailing letters.

Public transport
There is a well-developed and safe public transportation system covering all parts of Copenhagen and surroundings. It consists of buses, trains and Metro which operate on weekdays from 5:00 a.m. until midnight or 1 a.m. 10-trip cards valid for all forms of public transportation as well as tourist passes for 1, 3 or 7 days are available. Cards can be purchased at train stations and some shops - inquire at the Conference Centre.

Shopping
General opening hours for most shops are 09:00/10:00 to 17:00/19:00, Monday to Friday and 09:00/10:00 to 14:00/17:00 Saturday. Tourist shops may be open 7 days a week.

Time differences
Denmark has Greenwich Mean Time (-2 GMT) during summer time.

Tipping
Tips are included in the bill. Tipping is however customary in restaurants, up to 10%.
